Your Easypaisa or JazzCash account balance is different from your SIM balance — it is real money sitting in your mobile wallet, and there are three ways to see it: the official app, the *786# USSD menu that works on any phone without internet, and the helpline. One pleasant surprise: although Easypaisa (Telenor) and JazzCash (Jazz) are rival services, both officially use *786# — the menu that opens belongs to whichever wallet your number is registered with.
1. Check balance in the app (free, clearest)
Open the easypaisa app or JazzCash app and log in with your registered mobile number and PIN/MPIN. Your account balance is displayed right in the app on the main screen, along with your recent transactions. The app method is free, works on Wi-Fi even if the SIM has no balance, and is the only method that also shows you the mini-statement — use it whenever you have internet. If you do not have an account yet, create one first with our Easypaisa account guide or JazzCash account guide.
2. Check Easypaisa balance with *786# (no internet needed)
From the phone whose number holds the Easypaisa account, dial *786#. In the menu, choose My Account (option 6 in the Easypaisa menu), then choose the Balance Inquiry option and enter your 5-digit Easypaisa PIN. Your balance appears on screen. Easypaisa's official schedule of charges lists USSD balance inquiry at a small fee — Rs 1.00 (including tax) per inquiry plus a Rs 1 platform fee — so keep a few rupees of SIM balance for the session. Never complete this flow on someone else's instructions over a call; the PIN screen belongs only to you.
3. Check JazzCash balance with *786#
JazzCash uses the same entry code: dial *786# from your JazzCash-registered number, open My Account, choose Check Balance, and enter your 4-digit MPIN. The balance shows on screen immediately. If the menu wording on your phone differs slightly, follow the labels — the structure (My Account → Check Balance → MPIN) stays the same. This works on a basic feature phone too, which is exactly what USSD is for.
4. Helplines, when the code and app both fail
Easypaisa: call 3737 from a Telenor number, or 042-111-003-737 from any other network. JazzCash: call 4444 from a Jazz number, or 111-124-444 (with your city code, for example 051-111-124-444) from other networks. An agent can confirm your balance after verifying your identity — and no genuine agent will ever ask for your full PIN or any OTP sent to your phone. If someone does, hang up; that call is the scam described in our Easypaisa & JazzCash safety guide.
5. Balance looks wrong?
Compare the app balance with your last few transactions on the same screen. A missing amount is usually a transaction still in process (a bill payment or transfer made minutes ago) or a small USSD fee deducted after a code-based inquiry. If a completed transaction from yesterday is missing, note its transaction ID from the app history before calling the helpline — with the ID, support can trace it in one call instead of three.
Frequently asked questions
Is *786# the balance code for both Easypaisa and JazzCash?
Yes — both services officially use *786#. Dial it from the number registered with your wallet, open My Account, choose the balance option, and enter your PIN (Easypaisa) or MPIN (JazzCash).
Is checking the balance free?
In the apps, yes — balance and history are free. Easypaisa's official charges schedule lists a small fee for USSD balance inquiry (Rs 1 including tax, plus a Rs 1 platform fee per transaction), deducted from your mobile balance.
Can I check my Easypaisa balance from another network's SIM?
The *786# menu must be dialled from the number that holds the account. To check from elsewhere, use the app (works on any internet connection) or call the helpline numbers listed in this guide.
