You do not need the paper bill to know or pay your electricity bill. Every electricity distribution company in Pakistan lets you view and download a duplicate bill online, free, using the reference number printed on any old bill. Here is the method that works for all of them.
Step 1: Find your reference number
Take any old electricity bill of the same meter. The reference number is a 14-digit number printed near the top of the bill (K-Electric bills use an account number instead). This number never changes for your meter — save a photo of it in your phone and you will never need the paper bill again.
Step 2: Open your company website and enter it
- LESCO (Lahore): lesco.gov.pk — Bill Inquiry
- IESCO (Islamabad / Rawalpindi): iesco.com.pk — View Bill
- MEPCO (Multan / South Punjab): mepco.com.pk
- FESCO (Faisalabad): fesco.com.pk
- GEPCO (Gujranwala): gepco.com.pk
- PESCO (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa): pesco.com.pk / bill.pesco.com.pk
- HESCO (Hyderabad) & SEPCO (Sukkur): their official bill pages via pitc.com.pk portals
- QESCO (Quetta / Balochistan): qesco.com.pk
- K-Electric (Karachi): ke.com.pk — enter your account number to view and download the bill.
On the bill page, type the reference number (without spaces), submit, and your current bill appears with amount, due date and units consumed. Use the print/download option to save the PDF.
Step 3: Read the bill correctly — the 5 things to check
- Units consumed: compare with last month; a sudden jump usually means a new heavy appliance, a faulty one, or a wrong meter reading.
- Meter reading photo/date: many bills print the reading image — check the digits roughly match your meter.
- Due date and late surcharge: the amount after due date is printed separately; paying even one day late adds that surcharge.
- Arrears: if last month shows unpaid, it is added here — the most common reason a bill looks "double".
- Tariff / slab: crossing 200 or 300 units moves you to a costlier slab for that month — one heavy month raises the per-unit price on all units in that slab system.
Pay it online in 2 minutes
Copy the same reference/account number into JazzCash, Easypaisa, or any Pakistani banking app → Bill Payments → Electricity → your company → enter reference → the payable amount appears automatically → pay and save the receipt screenshot. Paying through an app before the due date also creates proof if a payment dispute ever arises.
If the bill looks wrong
First compare units, reading and arrears as above — most "extra bill" cases are arrears or a slab jump, not an error. If the meter reading itself is wrong (bill shows far more units than the meter displays today), take a dated photo of the meter and visit your subdivision office or lodge a complaint through your company helpline / the official complaint portal with the photo attached.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check my electricity bill with my CNIC or name?
Generally no — online bill systems work on the 14-digit reference number (or K-Electric account number), not CNIC or name, because one person can have several meters. Find the reference number on any old bill of the same meter.
I lost all my old bills. How do I get the reference number?
Visit your nearest subdivision / customer service office of your electricity company with your CNIC and meter details, or call their helpline — they can tell you the reference number for your meter after verification. After that, save it in your phone.
The website shows no bill yet. When do bills appear online?
Bills are uploaded in batches through the month according to your meter-reading cycle. If your paper bill has not arrived either, your batch may not be generated yet — check again in a few days, well before your usual due date.
