Admission forms, job documents and rental agreements increasingly arrive as PDFs expecting a signature. You do not need a printer. Your phone can fill, sign and return the same PDF in minutes.

Method 1: Google Drive / built-in markup (Android)

Open the PDF from Drive or Files. Many Android phones offer a pen/markup tool when previewing a PDF: tap the edit/pen icon, write your signature with a finger or stylus on the signature line, position text for name and date, then Save a copy — always save a copy so the original stays untouched.

Method 2: Adobe Acrobat app — Fill & Sign (Android & iPhone)

  1. Install the official Adobe Acrobat app and open the PDF.
  2. Choose Fill & Sign.
  3. Tap text fields to type name, CNIC, date and other details.
  4. Tap the signature icon → Create signature → draw it once; Acrobat saves it for future forms.
  5. Place the signature on the line, resize it to look natural, then Share/Save the signed copy.

Method 3: iPhone Markup

Open the PDF in Files → tap the Markup (pen) icon → tap + → Add Signature, sign once, place it, and Done. Your saved signature is reusable across documents on the iPhone.

Make it look professional: Sign at a natural size — not stretched across the page — and fill every field the form asks (name in block letters, date, CNIC) in the same session. Then open the final PDF once to confirm the signature actually landed on the line before sending.

Know the limits

A drawn signature on a phone is accepted for most everyday forms, applications and agreements in practice, but some legal, banking and government processes require a specific digital signature, an in-person signature, or attestation. If the receiving office states a method, follow theirs — and never sign a document whose contents you have not read fully.

Protect your signature image: A saved signature can be copied out of a PDF you share. Only send signed documents to the intended office or person, and avoid posting signed forms publicly or in groups.

Frequently asked questions

Is a phone signature valid?

For most routine forms and applications it is accepted in practice, but validity rules differ by organisation and document type. When an office specifies wet signature or a certified digital signature, their instruction wins.

Can I reuse the same saved signature?

Yes — Acrobat and iPhone Markup both store it for future documents. Keep your phone locked, because anyone holding your unlocked phone could use that saved signature.

The PDF has no fillable fields. Can I still sign?

Yes. Fill & Sign and Markup let you place typed text and a signature anywhere on the page, whether or not the PDF was designed as a form.
