Paper gas bills arrive late, get lost, or land at the wrong house — but your Sui gas bill is always available online, free, with no login and no CNIC. Pakistan has two gas companies, and each has its own official bill portal. This guide covers both, in the same order: first find which company serves your home, then use its number and portal.

1. Know your company: SNGPL or SSGC?

SNGPL (Sui Northern) serves Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Azad Kashmir. SSGC (Sui Southern) serves Sindh and Balochistan — Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Quetta. Your old bill carries the company name and logo at the top; the company decides both the number format and the website, so check this first.

2. Find your number on an old bill

For SNGPL, find the Consumer Number — an 11-digit number printed near the top of the bill, sometimes labelled "Consumer No." or "Account ID". Do not use the meter number; that is a different number and the website will reject it. For SSGC, find the 10-digit Customer Number in the customer information at the top of the bill; if a single extra digit appears in brackets beside it, leave that bracket digit out. Both numbers stay the same every month — save a photo of one old bill in your phone and you are set for life.

3. SNGPL bill check — step by step

Open sngpl.com.pk and choose "Get Your Gas Bill" from the customer services links. A form titled Consumer Bill opens. Type your 11-digit consumer number — digits only, no spaces or dashes — enter the captcha characters shown, and press Submit. Your current bill appears with the billing month, gas units consumed, amount payable, due date and any arrears. Use the download/print option to save a duplicate bill PDF. SNGPL's official app, SNGPL ConnectOn, does the same job on your phone and can also show your yearly consumption and billing history.

4. SSGC bill check — step by step

Open SSGC's official bill portal viewbill.ssgc.com.pk and select "View/Print Duplicate Bill". Enter your 10-digit Customer Number, complete the captcha if shown, and press Search. The latest bill opens, usually as a PDF, showing the billing month, due date and amount payable — download or print it free. SSGC's official app, SSGC Customer Connect, lets you register once with your customer number and then view current and past bills anytime; you can add more than one customer number for a second home or a shop.

No CNIC method exists: Neither company lets you check a bill by CNIC, name or address — the consumer/customer number is the only key, which is also what protects your privacy. Any website claiming to show your gas bill from just your CNIC is not official; do not use it.

5. Lost your number? Here is the recovery route

If every old bill is lost, call the gas companies' helpline 1199, or visit the nearest customer care / facilitation centre with your CNIC and home address; staff can trace your consumer or customer number from the connection record. A neighbour's bill from the same street can also show you exactly where on the page your own number is printed — but never enter someone else's number by mistake; the portal will happily show their bill instead of yours.

6. Paying the bill you just checked

Once you can see the amount and due date, pay the same way as other utility bills: any bank app, Easypaisa or JazzCash bill-payment menu, choosing SNGPL or SSGC and entering the same consumer/customer number. Pay two or three days before the due date — last-day payments near the deadline are the ones that most often reflect late. Keep the receipt until the next bill shows the payment. The same routine works for your other utilities; see our guides to checking your electricity bill online and checking and paying your PTCL bill.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the consumer number and the meter number?

The meter number belongs to the physical meter device and changes if the meter is replaced. The consumer/customer number belongs to your account and stays the same — that is the number both bill portals ask for.

Can I check my Sui gas bill with my CNIC number?

No. Neither SNGPL nor SSGC offers a CNIC-based bill check. You need the consumer number (SNGPL) or customer number (SSGC) from any old bill, or help from the 1199 helpline to recover it.

My latest bill is not showing online. What should I do?

New bills appear a few days after the meter reading cycle, and portals can be slow near the due date. Check the digits and captcha carefully, try again after some hours, and if the billing month has passed its usual date, call 1199.
